| In Chinese traditional art theories, Li Sizhen is the first people, who joins "Yi"and "Pin". He puts the aesthetics notion of "Yipin" in his calligraphy wok. His work is called The Latter of Shupin(书åŽå“). The Latter of Shupin is the first work on Tang Dynasty calligraphy comment.The Latter of Shupin inherits the comment way of Shupin(书å“), which was written by Yu Jianwu, who was in the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties. Li Sizhen comments on the calligraphers in the nine-rank system. Beyond the nine-rank system, he puts Yipin. When comment the calligraphers, Li Sizhen always combines the artistic beauty of calligraphers with the the beauty of nature. It makes Yipin has the characteristics of the intuition and imagery.The source of Yipin is the notion of Tianran in Shupin. The nature of Yipin is the reflect on calligraphy of Taoist spirit. As a politician, Li Sizhen put the represent of Taoist spirit—Yipin to the top. This reflects the spiritual characteristics of scholar officials from ancient times to the present.After Li Sizhen, Yipin on the calligraphy comment weared off, however, on the painting comment, Yipin attract more and more attention.
