| Study on fuzzy words has a long history, the study of modern Chinese fuzzy words in ourlingual world started from the papers “The First Research on Fuzzy Language” and “The SecondResearch on Fuzzy Language” by Li Tieping. During the several decades from then, lots oflinguists have studied on definition, classification, basic features and emergent reasons of fuzzywords or its meaning, and yielded heartening achievement. However, research on dynamicchanges of fuzzy word meaning has not been systemic or mature.Based on definition and classification of fuzzy word meaning, this article searched thefuzzy words by category in the modern Chinese database, to find out the changes of theirmeaning in dynamic application. Furthermore, generalization and summarization was also givenon disciplines, reasons, and conditions of dynamic changes of fuzzy word meaning.The first chapter introduced the emergence of fuzzy linguistics abroad, and study situationof fuzzy words and their meaning in our lingual world. Furthermore, the value of this paper,research scope and method were also expounded in this chapter.In the second chapter, there was an exposition of static basis and change conditions thatnecessary for dynamic changes of modern Chinese fuzzy word meaning. The static basisincluded the definition of fuzzy words and fuzzy word meaning, the classification of fuzzy wordmeaning and its characteristic. The change condition was context mainly.Chapter three was a description by category about temporary changes of modern Chinesefuzzy word meaning, included the changes of fuzzy scope and fuzzy level, and thetransformation between fuzzy word meaning and perspicuity word meaning. Based on thedescription, a generalization about regular characteristic of temporary changes was given indetail.Chapter four was a description by category about historic changes of modern Chinese fuzzyword meaning, included the emergence and disappearance of fuzzy word meaning, the changesof scope and level of fuzzy word meaning, and the changes of type of fuzzy word meaning.Based on the description, a generalization about regular characteristic of historic changes wasgiven in detail. Research on the dynamic changes of modern Chinese fuzzy word meaning can not only fillin the gap that there was only static description and dynamic research insufficient, in order to knowthe word meaning overall, but also break new ground for fuzzy linguistics research. This articlewas just expounded preliminarily in dynamic changes of fuzzy word meaning, deeper analysiswill be given in the future study. |
