The Study Of Referring Words In Analytical Dictioary Of Characters

Chinese character，having a long history，is one of the world’sthree oldest characters that are cuneiform，Egyptian and Chinesecharacters，and also is still being used only in these three oldestcharacters. The study of Chinese character has existed since theancient time. The referring words are the foundation of Chinesecharacter construction. Based on inheriting the predecessors’study results of referring words in “analytical dictionary ofcharacters”，this paper has done the works mainly in the followingaspects. First collected ancient scholars for the study of the bookrefers to the matter, to explore the previous understanding of theconcept of Referring Words, sorting out one of the similarities anddifferences in standards on this basis, summed up to determine thecharacteristics of that thing word and to determine standards;Second, using the criteria established control Wang Yun and ZhuJunsheng sound for a list of things word filter out AnalyticalDictionary of Characters meet word, and the word of these thingsfrom classification, Interpretion method, literacy teaching thesignificance of the study.There are six parts in the thesis.The first part isintroduction,sketched out research subject and material selected basis,theoretical background and current research status,researchmaterial and method,research purpose and reasearchsingificance.The second part is making the standards on judgingreferring words by a comprehensive sort of the evolutionary historyof referring words study, meanwhile，having a census about thenumber of referring words in “the Six Classics” and the distributionconditions of radical referring words and referring words in “the SixClassics”.The third part is making a classification to referringwords from the structure and ideographic way of referring words.Referring words are divided into three types in accordance of fontstructure，such as independent refers，united refers and variantrefers， moreover， are divided into different subclasses as theideographic manner of referring words in each category.Independent referring words contain the fact to see meaning，thevirtual shape to see meaning and the real image to see meaning.Variant referring words consist of the antonym to see meaning，inverting to see meaning and variation to see meaning.The forthpart is due to the limitations of the era that Xushen stayed，theexplanation of referring words had some mistakes inevitably.Although the predecessors had pointed out the mistakes，they hadnot made a systematic analysis. This paper explores the exegeticalways of referring words from the shape，sound and meaning bysumming up the annotation content of referring words made byXushen，in addition，makes a textual research on original meaningof some typical false words.The fifth part is presenting someeffects about the referring words study in “analytical dictionary ofcharacters” to promoting the teaching of Chinese characters.At last,we conclude the whole semantic systems.The last part isclosing,we summarize the thesis.
