Language reflects the development of society, various periods of language can embodythe unique character of different times. Vocabulary as the more active elements of thelanguage, has a very close relation with the society. When individuals or groups communicateeach other using two or more languages or or variants (dialect), can cause all kinds ofcorresponding language changes by direct and indirect contact, this change in vocabulary ismore significant in the reaction. From the length of words, the field distribution, the way ofword-building, the materials of word-building, reseach the new words of2007-2011, resultsshow that contemporary Chinese words have the following four characteristics. thepolysyllabic words increase a large number, the number of letter words and acronymssignificantly increased, the new additional words which made by semi-affixes appearfrequntly, dialect words and loanwords gradually integrate into the Chinese vocabularysystem. In the contemporary Chinese vocabulary system, members have a short and fast speedof updating, the meaning of words involves the very wide range and covers many fields,vocabulary aggregates inside the system frequently, enlarged.Contemporary Chinesevocabulary evolution types include the changes of morpheme, the changes of meaning, thefoundtion of producting the new words is pronunciation, the meaning of words andmorphology. The evolution way of words is of three kinds, borrowing words, the changes ofword-building and the meaning evolution. In addition to the evolution of social, cultural andpsychological factors on the impact of contemporary vocabulary, because of language contactand language evolution have the inseparable relations, so the evolution of modern Chinesevocabulary system mainly occurs in the contact of commen speech and dialect, the contact ofChinese and the foreign languageļ¼Œthe contact of the languages between the Hans andminority nationality.
