A Study On The View Of Heaven And Man In Korean Dong-Hak

Dong-Hak is new religion which was appeared firstly in Korea at the end of the19th century. Choi Jewoo established it and the third religious sect leader, Son Byunghee, changed the name from Dong-Hak to Cheondogyo. Although Dong-Hak currently make a few effects on Korean society, Dong-Hak includes lots of thoughts in philosophy and religion and their "Remission Movement","Dong-Hak Peasant movement","3.1Independence Movement of1919", etc. made lots of effects on Korean history, so Dong-Hak is the most popular subject of research in Korean academic field.Dong-Hak not only shows deep color of religion but also possesses theoretical system completely. Among them, core thoughts are "the view of heaven" focusing on "Han-ul-nim" and "the view of human" that all of people serving "Han-ul-nim" are equal.On the whole, this article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is for Dong-Hak;"historic changes","main characters","relationship between Dong-Hak and Chinese thought"The second chapter analyzed the view of heaven of Choi Jewoo and Choi Sihyung. It includes Choi Jewoo’s "Han-ul-nim","Si-choen-ju","Bul-yeon-gi-yeon" and Choi Sihyung’s "Yang-cheon-ju","Sip-mu-cheon","Sa-in-yeo-chun"The third chapter analyzed the view of man of Choi Jewoo and Choi Sihyung. It includes Choi Jewoo’s "Recognition theory","Ethical theory","Ideal human theory" and Choi Sihyung’s "weaving Han-ul-nim","Children are Han-ul-nim","Hyang-a-sul-wi". The fourth chapter explained Korean traditional view of heaven and man and analyzed Dong-Hak’s view of heaven and man makes an effect on Korean society.The conclusion described the whole contents of the four chapters and explained the value of Dong-Hak’s view of heaven and man. Also, it explained this research’s insufficiencies.
