A Study Of Chen Zengshou And His Poetry

Chen Zengshou is one of the adherents of Qing Dynasty and he’s also a greatpoet. His poetry achievements can compared with Chen Sanli and Zheng Xiaoxu inthe late Qing Dynasty and early Republican poetry period,but people don’t agree withhis political identity. On the basis of previous studies,this paper will focuses on ChenZengshou’s political experience and do a new conclusion to him.At the same time,thisarticle will also describe his poetry achievements.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter reviews ChenZengshou’s family history and his biography.This part put emphasis on the poet’sofficial career experience in Manchukuo.Through some historical facts,we’ll knowthat Chen Zengshou is not a traitor.The second chapter describes that ChenZengshou’s poetic creation influenced by his family and his teacher and these effectsalso performance in the spiritual connotation of poetry.The third chapter introducesthe content of Chen Zengshou’s poetry,mainly includes soul epic poems, scenicpoems and Yongwu poems.We can see the poet’s life from these poems,and we’ll alsorealize the artistic value of his poetry.The fourth chapter analyzes Chen Zengshou’spoetry style.His style of poetry is divided into two periods,and the late poetry style isimportant.
