Sartre is the initiator of French Existentialist, whose existentialism dramas are based on existential philosophy. The contents of Sartre’s works are all closely related to his philosophic thinking. Huis clos, created in1944, is his representative works of existentialism drama. In this works, he proposes’hell is other people’, which expounds his philosophy of Existentialism. It is inevitable that people have conflict, struggle and cruel between them, which are full of abominations, and all that are ridiculous. All that the world can bring to us is endless anguish, despair and pessimism, while one can only be suffering in this ridiculous and cruel situation.Premised by director’s script analysis and conception, this thesis proceeds from the director’s creative process for rehearsal and performance of Huis clos, and probes into the basic method of text interpretation and the importance of script analysis in re-creation. Combining the script Confinement, it looks into the characteristics of existentialism script interpretation. During the process of rehearsal and performance, it emphasizes the atmosphere by space setting. It emphasizes the unity of opposites of rhythm and site condition as well as the external expression of inner conflict. By this way, it probes into the director’s re-creation in Huis clos. It also discusses about the realistic meaning of Huis clos by stage performance.
