Professor Limei Yang is a contemporary remarkable representative in the field of Comparative Music Education in China, devoting herself to the research of Kodaly pedagogy, in the meantime she also involves in the research of integrated arts curriculum and teaching materials, early childhood music education and so on. She is also one of the comparatively authoritative personages of Chinese localization on Kodaly pedagogy study nowadays. Limei Yang and her exploration of Kodaly pedagogy in China is the object of this study, using the literature research method and descriptive research method, arranging and studying literatures and books published ever since Limei Yang has engaged in the research on the Chinese localization of Kodaly pedagogy. The newest trends of development in the forefront of Chinese music education are understood to some extent through her perspective, and therefore enlightenment will be given to the music education in our country.This text is composed of six chapters. Introduction, including origin of topic selection, research purpose, research methods, research meaning, and the arrangement and researches of Limei Yang and Kodaly pedagogy in the field of the music education. Chapter one is the introduction and literature searching from studying and Kodaly pedagogy’s dissemination of Limei Yang. The second chapter is mainly the literature searching of the first period (2000-2010) about the exploration of Limei Yang on the Chinese localization of Kodaly pedagogy. Chapter three is the literature and practice searching of the second period (2000-2010) about the exploration of Limei Yang on the Chinese localization of Kodaly pedagogy. In the fourth chapter, the background、sources and characteristics of Limei Yang’s exploration on the Chinese localization of Kodaly pedagogy have been analyzed by using Comparative Musicology, Elliott’s theory of music practice, Reimer’s music philosophy perspective on music education. The last is the conclusion.The conclusion of contribution made by the exploration of Limei Yang’s contribution to the Chinese localization of Kodaly pedagogy, especially the concept of mother-tongue teaching based on the national culture consciously that she has been emphasizing, not only alerting the national music education researchers and workers learn foreign advanced teaching experience creatively, also effectively providing rich solutions for the practical problems of their class (such as rhythm, pitch, music reading and writing, etc.).
