Research In Chinese Antithetical Style During The Gaozong Reign (1127-1163) Of The Song Dynasty

In order to confirm the status and the value of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign of the Song Dynasty, this thesis selects the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign as the research object and analyses them mainly from the formation of Chinese antithetical style of the Song Dynasty, the text characteristic and the function of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign of the Song Dynasty. This period of the Chinese antithetical style both carried on the creation of Lu Zhi in Middle of the Tang dynasty and Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi in Northern Song dynasty, which took the prose characteristic into the Chinese antithetical style, so it resulted to form a different style. This paper shows the new characteristics of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign of the Song Dynasty from the structure, the rhythm and the rhetoric after absorbing prose nutrition. The development of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign of the Song Dynasty benefited from not only the improvement and the innovation of the predecessors, but also the wide application and spread at that time. Therefore, the paper focus on two kinds of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign: one is the "Speech-on-behalf style" of GaoZong and the other was written by the demoted officials. According to the analysis and interpretation of the works, the paper expounds the effect and the influence in that period. Based on the text materials and historical records, the dissertation researches in both the connotation and the extension of the Chinese antithetical style during the Gaozong Reign of the Song Dynasty and demonstrates the peak of the Chinese antithetical style in both creation and application fields.
