| Chinese listening course may be the most difficult one among all the Chinese courses forKorean Chinese learners, it is also the one which makes them lack of sense of achievement. Why do students have this kind of problem? In fact, the Koreans have advantage over westernpeople in learning Chinese. This is because that China and Korea have a close contact witheach other in history.70%of modern Korean vocabularies are borrowed from Chinese, suchas phonetic loan in Korean. The pronunciation of many Korean syllables still retains thecharacteristics of ancient Chinese. But still Korean is an independent language. The Koreanoften comes across general difficulties and regular biases in learning Chinese, especially inlistening. Sometimes, the Korean people even have more difficulties about listening than thewestern people. In order to progress the education of Chinese listening, the Koreans put emphasis on thefollowing issues:(1) the problems in learning theory;(2) the connection from learning pointto real life;(3) the quality of the listening teachers;(4) teachers’ preparation for lessons etc. Interms of the learning habit from the Koreans, the most important thing is to choose a goodlistening textbook. Although it is has been much better than before, the Koreans still prefer tostart Chinese studying with Grammar. In fact, most of the listening materials are lack of theexplanation of the Grammar. New words are unevenly distributed in different materials.Exercises take up most of the class time. In this way, the teacher can neither interest studentsnor catch students’attention. The students, especially the beginning level students would thinkthat the listening textbook is dull. The listening materials have no clear objective for each learning stage. Learning contentlacks interesting point and run away from the real life. The passages and questions are notquite useful in the ordinary life. The content of the materials focuses on the northern Chinesecustom and ignores the fact that China has diversified population from different area; thedesign of the listening textbooks lacks diversity. For the beginning level learners, it is hard tounderstand the phonetic form, writing style, syntax rule, word meaning and Chinese culture. The educators’ task in the beginning stage of teaching is to help the students construct aknowledge base on these area and increase their comprehensive understanding of listeningstep by step. In addition, the educators should put the teaching theory into the practice andcontinuously check the effectiveness. The analytic standard of listening textbooks centers on education program, languagelearning theory and practicality. It can be divided into the following six parts. Firstly, the standard of fitness of education program is that the content of the textbookand teaching has the objective, level, details, order, study burden and interestingness.Secondly, the standard of the fitness of teaching is that teachers should prepare essentialmaterials, and point out the study point in sequence.Thirdly, the standard of the fitness of the linguistic data is that when the student use thelanguage, the textbooks can provide essential materials for improving the students’ semanticunderstanding.Fourthly, the standard of the composition of the language data is that the textbooks aresuitable to train the students’ability of listening speaking, reading, and writing.Fifthly, the standard of the type of activities is that the textbooks should consider thecharacteristics of the beginner into consideration. Teachers can develop diversified andinteresting activities for the student. Finally, the standard of practical utility is whether the textbook can have a deepimpression on students, and how much knowledge it could cover. This paper is to analyze the features of the elementary level listening textbooks, analyzewhich kind of book is suitable for the beginning level Korean students, and know about theopinions the learners have on the exiting textbooks, compare the elementary level listeningtextbooks from China and Korean, and see if they are reasonable and interesting.
