| Life and death will be the eternal theme of nature. Owing to the different cultrueawareness and world life outlook, they have different attitudes and critical pointtowards life and death. There is comparability on the view of life and death betweenChina and Japan. Therefore, it is of realistic significance that we compare the Chineseconception of1ife and death with that of Japanese. Confucianism, Buddhism andTaoism shape the attitude on life and death of Chinese people. They are not reallyinterested in the other dimension of the world. Instead, they seek the ritual belief for apsychological balance, and pay attention to the reality of life. The ultimate goal of lifeis in the real world, rather than an illusory shore. While in Japan, bushido is producedas the practice of war in the samurai life, which shapes the attitude of Japanese people. They do not cherish their own life, and look down on other people’s lives. As neighboring countries, facing each other across the sea, China and Japan areseparated only by a narrow strip of water. The intercultural communication betweenChina and Japan can be traced back to the ancient times. It initiates in the form ofpolitical, economical, cultural contact, and gives a boost to the close relationshipbetween the two countries. What’s more, because of different religious superstition, education, politics, and cultural factors, conflicts and competition have never stoppedbetween China and Japan.
