Research On Traditional Festival Poster Design

Nowadays,globalization of the whole world has become closer and closer toeveryone,and China is also integrated into the world for the further step.In this period ofeconomic integration,culture is also needs to keep up with this trend.The culture of thefolk custom who is based on the traditional Chinese festival is a mark which madeChinese nation different from the others,it is a great force to make the Chinese nation tokeep powerful.Inherited and carried forward the remarkable traditional festivals canpromote the nation’s sense of identity,cohesion,stimulate the national will,and also helpto maintain the social stability and harmony.For a nation with a long culturalhistory,when the foreign cultures collided with the Chinese,there is a much possibilitythat resulting to the dilution of local culture and even existed a problem of wastagewhen we absorb the foreign cultures.With the developpement of technologies andsociety,poster design is increasingly becoming one of the important tools forinternational communication,with great artistic appeal and charisma.We need to put theessence of Chinese traditional culture into modern poster design,to pay more attentionto the value and meaning of the importance of traditional cultural elements in posterdesign,to continue and add glory to the traditional culture by using a particularpromoted method.This thesis is based on the mainly value of the traditional Chinese LanternFestival,re-understand it on the modern angle,re-examination the culturalconnotation,national customs and the traditional meaning,to research how torefine,reform and bring forth new ideas to these cultural elements.By using thegraphics,text and color to reflect the characteristics of Chinese culture,to combine“traditional heritage”and “absorb advanced”so that the core values of the traditionalfestivals can exist forever,and to avoid the attention and liked to the traditional Chinesefestivals become an obligation.
