The Northern Dynasties is the start of the development of ChineseTaoist art.It has a major impact on the Rheology of Taoist Art after theTang Dynasty. While Guanzhong area is the Centralized place of TaoistArt during The Northern Dynasties. Taoist statues，the only Taoist Artsremains seen of The Northern Dynasties now---one of the importantmanifestations in Taoist art history,was produced,developed and thenindependent gradually at that time, making Taoist Art independent to thepopular Buddhist art but has its own Notable feature. This paper mainlydiscussed the Main characteristics of the Taoist statues of The NorthernDynasties through Thorough research of the Taoist statues in duringNorthern Dynasties. And this paper also interpreted The LORD Godfaith of Taoist statues in The Northern Dynasties gradually in order todistinguish it from the Buddhist statues, and at last gave an analysis ofthe concept reflected by The Northern Dynasties Taoist statues image.The text can be divided into four chapters. The first chapter is theGeneralization of the origin and development of the NorthernDynasties Taoism steles in Guanzhong area. This chapter focuses onthe development situation of Taoism in Guanzhong area during theNorthern Wei Dynasty and also the shape and size of the NorthernDynasties Taoism steles. This chapter points out the reason why TaoistArt could be produced in Guanzhong area and could be as the representative of The statue tablet,it related to religious art tradition,the introduction of Buddhism and the development of Taoism itself,which directly influenced the later Taoist art development. The secondchapter discusses the Northern Dynasties Taoism steles of independence.This problem is the theory basic.At first, it anylalizes the standarddevice of the Northern Dynasties Taoism steles, differentiate the originalfuzzy Taoism steles from other religious statues, in order to make thefollowing research smooth. Then Puts forward three typicalcharacteristics of the Northern Dynasties Taoism steles: duster, dressed,beard, in order to find a basis for the independence of the NorthernDynasties Taoism steles from the aspect of image. The third chapterfocuses on the LORD God faith of the Northern Dynasties Taoism steles.From the view of the existing Northern Dynasties Taoism steles, almostall The LORD God identity of the statue tablet is Laojun in addition tothe statue tablet who’s LORD God identity is not clearly documented.This chapter builds the myth of the development process of Laojun fromthe aspects of Physical and Literature. The last chapter discusses theconcept reflected by the image of the Northern Dynasties Taoism stelesFrom the perspective of image study, thinking that the image of thestatue tablet reflecting two concepts of “Rock”and “Yin-Yang”. Theformation of image concept is greatly affected by Han Dynasty stoneand the Buddhist statues.
