“Yue Lun”is an significant literary work in the ancient Chinese aestheticshistory. Its broad and profound thought bring far-reaching impact on futuredevelopment. From the aesthetic point of view, this article attempts to comprehend theYue Lun theory from Xunzi in an All-Round Way. The author had beensystematically collated the information from various reference area include the YueLun’s theoretical origin and the value of Yue Lun’s aesthetic ideology in wholeesthetics system, the concrete reflection of Yue Lun’s aesthetic ideology, the historicalinfluence and contemporary value of Yue Lun’s aesthetic ideology from Xunzi.The paper can be divided into three chapters:Chapter one: mainly introduced the theoretical origin of Xunzi’s Yue Luntheory. This chapter consists of two sections: the first section elaborated on therelationship between pre-Qin scriptures and Xunzi. Two typical representative pre-Qinscriptures which had an a strong influence on Xunzi were expounded; the secondsection discoursed the source and connection between the classical Confucian Musictheory and the aesthetic ideology of Xunzi’s Yue Lun theory. The case of an importantarchaeological discovery of Chu bamboo slips and Confucian slips from Guodianconformed the fact that Xunzi’ ideology come down in one continuous line at theConfucian culture.Chapter two: Xunzi’s theory of music aesthetic thought is comprehensivearrangemented. This chapter is divided into two sections: the first section: mainlydiscusses theory of music aesthetic thoughts in the ideology of value on Xunzi, thevalue lies in:“Heaven-and-Man separation” view of heaven,“change humanity byman-made” theory of human nature and the“Impartiality divided the group”thesociety said that these three aspects; section second, focuses on Thoughts on musicaesthetics of Xunzi ’s, this section is divided into four main parts: the first part, first ofall to discuss his love of music theory, this part can be considered to be behind thethree part of the basic theory; second part, discusses courtesy and music onXunzi’spoint of view, this part is mainly on music and interpersonal relationships; the third part, discusses Xunzi’s theory of neutrality, this part discusses the music aesthetic standardsand aesthetic ideal; fourth part discusses Xunzi", empty and quiet" aestheticperception theory, this part mainly discusses the music aesthetic psychologicalproblems. The four portion is formed between an organic synthesis, are Xunzi musicaesthetics indispensable part.Chapter three: mainly discussed historic impact and contemporarysignificanceXunzi on music aesthetic thought of Xunzi. This chapter is divided intotwo sections: the first section, mainly discusses music theory thought to the laterworktheory influence of xunzi, mainly influential on the" Yueji"; second, mainlydiscusses vulgarization tendency serious flooding today is important to musicaesthetic thought of Xunzi.
