The Perspective Research On PolysemoUs Word "Ti" In Modern Chinese

The research on polysemous word has always been an important linguisticstask.With introducing and absorbing the international linguistics theory, the modern Chinesegrammar world has a further research than before on polysemous word.More and more attentionhas been put into the polysemous verb research from the syntax,semantic and thepragmatic’s perspective.But this kind of research is mostly general and summarized.Andthere is little attention on a specific verb.The research on a specific verb is necessary andvaluable.The study of a specific verb can enrich the integrity of the modern Chineseverbs.So i think that more attention should be paid to the specific verb.In the1990s,somescholars began to introduce foreign cognitive linguistics theory,and at the same time thelanguage phenomenon is researched with the semantic,grammar,pragmatic andtextual.And the language study is pened widely.The polysemous word is widelyinvolved.The cognitive linguistics believe that the relationship among the meanings of apolysemous word are not arbitrary.Body,thought and the meanings of the words areconnected closely.The expansion of the polysemous words is based on the imageschema,and is formed through the way of metaphor and metonymy.This paper is basedon the syntax, semantics grammar theory,with the prototype theory and the image schematheory to analysis the relationship between the meanings of the verb "Ti".In this effort,theverb "Ti" can be comprehensive analyzed.The lack of the meanings can be founded in thedictionary.
