"Lu Yao Phenomenon" Research

In the history of contemporary Chinese Literature, Lu Yao is a special presence. In theearly1980s, Lu Yao won a great reputation by the novella “life” in contemporary ChineseLiterature and readers. In the late1980s, Lu Yao created a long-realist masterpiece “OrdinaryWorld”, and caused readers greatly repercussions. The enthusiasm of reading Lu Yao’s worksis unprecedented, however, in the history of Contemporary Chinese Literature, we see less LuYao’s shadow, literary scholars were generally indifferent to Lu Yao. The two contrasts of“cold” and “hot” constitute the “Lu Yao phenomenon”.Lu Yao’s attitudes and understanding of the literature, and his works by describing thelife and reveal the subject, have a profound meaning until today. After the new century, LuYao is beginning to attract the attention of literary historians. In2005, Lu Yao regression tide,distance tests a return to literary history.From the wide-ranging implications of Lu Yao’s work in the1980s, while in the historyof literature with no record, until the beginning of the appearance in literary history, we areable to detect potential changes in the process. The essence of this phenomenon is realismcompete for aesthetic leadership right. Lu Yao grew up in the atmosphere of the discourse ofrevolutionary realism and started literary creation, when Lu Yao pains to explore therevolutionary road of realism, the literary world has undergone enormous changes. With theinflux of Western modernist discourse, realism creation has not yet been fully developed, andhas no access to appropriate knowledge, then labeled by “obsolete”, and marked by thedecline of the fate. The aesthetic power of realism was snatched away. It is not difficult tounderstand the fate of Lu Yao in this environment.“Lu Yao phenomenon” is notable in recentyears. It profoundly reflect the “repulsion” and “fault” of literary history.In accordance with the idea of the description of phenomena, the article analyzed thecauses and explain the significance of “Lu Yao phenomenon”. The article was divided intofour chapters. Chapter I using aesthetic analysis to reveal “Lu Yao phenomenon” literatureappearance from the perspective of acceptation. Chapter II from the selecting and adhering toRealism, shows “Lu Yao phenomenon” original style. Chapter IV from the perspective of the literary public sphere, explores brought thinking of“Lu Yao phenomenon” in the literary history.
