Jinling Pan Ci, verdicts or prophecies reflecting the fate of Jinling12beauties in Hong Lou Meng, which has been researched as one of the most popular fields of study at home and abroad for a long time, especially among Redologists, is of great significance to investigate. Nowadays many scholars have focused on Jinling Pan Ci, metaphor and translation; however, few of them have laid much emphasis on metaphor translation in Jinling Pan Ci from the perspective of Conceptual Blending Theory with no detailed evidence to prove that all the4English translations of the Jinling Pan Ci have been studied thoroughly and systematically. Therefore, enabling the learning men in China to know prophesy or verdict translation and metaphor translation better is a positive project related to the construction of a harmonious society, the scientific development of China and the fulfillment of the "Chinese Dream" of becoming a strong country including culture. This thesis focuses on metaphor translation of Jinling Pan Ci and begins with an introduction of research background as well as research purpose and significance, and literature review of metaphor, metaphor translation strategies, HLM, Jinling Pan Ci and CBT, then goes on with an analysis of metaphor translation in4English translations of Jinling Pan Ci from HLM by applying CBT, and finally draws a conclusion about translators’preference of metaphor translation:J has a preference of combining translating metaphor into metaphor with translating metaphor into simile, not applying the method of deletion; B has a preference of combining translating metaphor into metaphor with translating metaphor with deletion, not using the method of translating metaphor into simile; H has a preference of applying the metaphor translation strategies flexibly; Y has a preference of managing to translate more ST metaphors only with the method of translating metaphor into metaphor, instead of applying the metaphor translation strategy of translating metaphor into simile or with deletion.(317words)...
