Archaeological Significane Of Technical Research For Unearthed Cultural Relics

Manufacturing technique, an important aspect of archeological research, has traditionally aroused an extensive attention by related research disciplines such as Archaeology, History, Ethnology, History of Scientific and Technological.Ancient carriages fabrication revealed the lever of ancient country’s machinery manufacturing technology. The way of production shows a complex combination of various manufacturing skills like carpenter, metalworking, painting, machinery, which has a great relevant with the development of ancient manufacturing, technology and science.Take the unearthed carriages from Majiayuan tombs of the warring states period, in Zhangjiachuan County, Gansu Province as a case, and after comparative researches for the unearthed carriages from different areas, this paper analyzed the origin and early development of ancient Chinese carriage and summarized its structure and making technology.By dissecting and laboratory fine excavating of these remains from Majiayuan tombs, we had an all-around record and utmost extraction on the giving information, such as the shape of the vehicles, structure, decoration, size of each components and connecting ways. Thus we can reach the goal of recovering and restoring its historical "original state" through a combination of the information. It should be emphasized that the manufacturing techniques researches for cultural relics play a positive role in enriching the methods and means of archaeological study and will great promote the development of archaeology.
