Bottlenecks In The Chinese Translation Of Business English Vocabularies And Their Solutions

As an ESP, business English has distinctive features and the style of it is solemn. Therefore, the vocabularies of it have its own characteristics, like professionalism, accuracy, and simplicity; this causes certain difficulty to translators.This thesis which is based on the author’s own translation practice analyzes and summarizes the three big bottlenecks in the translation of business English vocabularies, which are named "the change of meaning","the extension of word meaning", and "the archaic words" which appear frequently. So we can not take things for granted when we translate the vocabularies of business English. We should determine the meaning according to the profession, part of speech and contextual collocation. At the same time, we should analyze if the abstract nouns have been specified. For the archaic words, we should determine the meaning by their suffix.The thesis summarizes the three big bottlenecks in the translation of business English vocabularies and puts forward some solutions by analyzing the features of them. It is expected that beginners of business English can understand and grasp the meaning of business English vocabularies better.
