Follow Mencius And Surpass Hanyu:a Study On Wanganshi’s Thought Of Political Reform

Starting with the relation between "Govern" and "Thought", this Thesis has a systematic study on Wang-Anshi’s thought of Political Reform。the Thoughts of Wang-Anshi and the political reform during Xining and Yuanfeng periods, together build up a systematic framework and a base path for the evolution of Trom Thought to Govern, and the Integration of Thought and Govern", which forms the "Outside King" as part of The Confucianism thought of the ideal personality "sagely within and kingly without", directly promotes the development progress from Confucianism to Neo-Confucianism, and significantly contributes to the full flourishing of Neo-Confucianism and its firm confidence in "Governance by Neo-Confucianism". As this Thesis concludes, the direct drive force for the establishment and development of Neo-Confucianism originates from the historical event of Xi-Feng Reform, and Wang-Anshi, as the key figure, plays a more important role in the progress than the idea confrontation of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. This Thesis mainly adopts three research methodologies. Firstly, it focuses on progress and evolution, since crucial dynamic process can better reveal the changing of thoughts; secondly, it conducts systematic study, and uses the relation between "Govern" and "Thought" as the thread to link up the entire study; finally it takes Mencius and HanYu as reference, and conducts detailed comparative study.
