As previous forces of the barbarian movement, the Visigoths went into theterritory of Roman Empire before other Germanic tribes and were also the firstthat established their own nation-state, whose migration routes were thelongest, of which the areas of activity were the most extensive. The Visigothswere living in Scandinavia at first, and then moved to the Baltic coast. Nextthey moved to the Danube River Basin at about the Christian era, andeventually settled in Dacia. Under the pressure of the Huns, the Visigoths gotinto the Roman Empire, and started a road of migration with more difficultiesat the fourth century. From Mercia and Thrace to Greece in the south, theyinvaded the city of Rome in410B.C.. Then they reached the Iberian Peninsulaand set up the nation at Toulouse in418B.C.. However, they lost Gaul andwere relegated to Spain eventually.Four parts are contained in this article, covering the political, military, legaland religious aspects. In the first section, it introduces the history before theVisigoths’ entrance into the Roman Empire; the second part takes entering theRoman Empire as a prelude to interpret the process of the Visigoths’ fight inthe Roman Empire with three important events; The third part mainlyintroduces the whole progress of the establishment, the rise and thedevelopment of the Visigothic Kingdom; the last part summarizes theVisigoths’ historical impact on the growing process.
