Art occupied the highest position in Nietzsche’s thought although“There is nothing but art”. Some Philosophers have been thinking aboutart before Nietzsche. Plato divided the reality world into two regions:one is the world of sense and the other is the world of ideas. He believedthat the world of sense was the shadow of the world of ideas and art wasthe shadow of the world of sense. Therefore, the truth is more valuablethan art. Hegel believed that “art was the perceptual manifestation ofidea”. Schopenhauer believed that “art is the understanding andreplication of the world of ideas.” Philosophers before Nietzschedefinition of art to the world of ideas is the fundamental prerequisite.Nietzsche improved art above the height of truth to subvert the binarydivide on the world. The theme of this paper is about Nietzsche savedthe life through arts. The main body of this article consists of three parts.The first chapter is about how art and life related in the vision ofNietzsche’s philosophy. This part of the discourse in two steps, namely:Nietzsche philosophy theme is the meaning of life; Art is the path tosolve the problems of life. The relation of art and life is the premise ofthe art can save lives.The second chapter is the core of this paper, itdiscussed the path of life-saving through art. This part is divided intothree in accordance with the Nietzsche philosophy. They are all about Nietzsche’s important philosophical proposition, namely:"Art is thehighest mission of life," the sunset of art,"Art is a great stimulant. Theformation and development process of Nietzsche’s artistic concept canbasically be summed up as, an affirmation of the arts, to deny to thereaffirmation process. Early Nietzsche advocates of Greek mythology,art, respect for the tragic art certainly the Dionysian spirit of positivesignificance to life. The mid-Nietzsche recognized the significance ofscientific, believed that the art is not a substitute for science, the role ofart is a "narcotic." And it can not fundamentally rescue human fromsufferings. The latter part of the will to power is a return, Nietzscheconfirmed force on the role of life will, namely Dionysian spirit which ismentioned before. The third chapter entitled "a dimension of life whichcan not be ignored.” This chapter describes the core of the theory andimpact of the philosophy of Nietzsche.
