A Motif Study Of Heroic Tale In Folklore Among Uyghur

Abstract:Uyghur people created their own characteristic Uyghur culture in chronical development of history, devoting a contribution to the diversified Chinese culture. Of course, Uyghur folklore is also a very important part of Uyghur cultural relics. And these folk tales play prominent role in the development of Uyghur folklore. So there are some common characteristics either in Uyghur folk tales or in folk tales from other nations in the world that:it is a literary genre that express human being’s thought understanding as well as perceptions on natural world, interpersonal relationships and social phenomenon with absurd and fantastical way. Definetely, folk tale has close correlations with every part of human lives.We can see according to what has been mentioned above, it is generally accepted that folk tale stands in important position in folklore just because of broad content which is related to, however, the problem of classifications, has not been discussed as unified opinion yet. Because of braodness and complexity of folk tale, so in our work it is difficult for us to study all parts. On this reason, we have just discussed on Uyghur Heroic Stories and Motives in Uyghur Folk tale. Because motif is factor that stands in important position in literary works, which has historical tradition and embraces cultural part. Study of the motif will supply some convenience and deep reaserch on the cultural part of the folk tale, meanwhile it is useful to find some cultural background behind it,and it has some academic value to do comparative study with other motives in folk tale from different nations. This paper mainly study and discuss Motives and Heroic Stories in Uyghur Folk tale.
