Social withdrawal refers to lonely behavior, referring to over-time situations in both strange and familiar environment, in which there are solo game playing and idling around. Children’s social withdrawal includes three subtypes:Reticence, Solitary-passive and Solitary-active. Considering time given and limitations, this study due to discuss the social problem behaviors. In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars conducted in children’s social withdrawal studies, found that children’s social influence, especially by various withdrawal from education, the retreat of the parents to children’s social perspectives of parenting styles is seldom researched. So far, not a specifically target at children’s society has been given to the shrinking mother upbringing questionnaire. Therefore, this study due to investigate the relationships between mothers’parenting styles and5-year old children’s social withdrawal. The completion of this study can enrich psychological development theory; and can provide a reference in practice education for children’s family.We use questionnaires to do this study. Mothers’parenting questionnaire is an author-amended questionnaire, we do the questionnaires three times from Dalian city and circumjacent area extraction of15003-5years old children’s mothers, effectively recycling1009copies, effection rate is67.3%, and this is for revision mothers’parenting styles questionnaire. Social withdrawal screening process is based on Professor Pingzhi Ye’s "children’s social behavior questionnaire for teachers (formal questionnaire)", and screened335-year-old children who are social withdrawal-behaved. Finally, we make the study of the mothers’parenting styles and children’s social withdrawal of the relationship between the correlation analysis and regression analysis.The results of this study indicate that:(l).The revised mother parenting styles questionnaire has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a tool to find out wether a child’s mother’s parenting style could cause the child’s social withdrawal;(2). The discovery rate of5-year-old social withdraw children is2.57%;(3) Remarkable difference has been shown in the study between mothers of social withdraw children and mothers of normal children in all dimensions of mothers’parenting styles;(4). There is remarkable difference between all dimensions of mothers’parenting styles and5-year-old social withdraw children:(a) Mother who value children’s communication ability and emotion expression influence5-year-old children’s social withdrawal;(b) Mothers who show excessive protection, excessive punishment, excessive interference and excessive expectation influence5-year-old children’s social withdrawal;(c) Mothers who are in positive parent-child interaction, warmth reaction and pleasant emotions influence5-year-old children’s social withdrawal;(5).Mothers in different education backgrounds and different professions have remarkable differences in pareting styles.
