There are various appraisal standards for evaluating the interpretation quality of aninterpreter, but less of them can be quantified. At the same time, pauses, back-tracking,misinterpretation and miss of interpretation are relatively trustable appraisal index whichcould be quantified. This paper mainly focusing on evaluating the impact on interpretationquality of the familiarities of interpreter with the subject and related content, especially theimprovement in pauses, back-tracking、misinterpretation and miss of interpretation.It is observed the direct connection between interpreter’s familiarities with the subject andinterpretation quality. In a relatively long time interpretation project, an interpreter’sinterpretation quality could be enhanced significantly when the interpreter becomegradually familiar with the subject content. Each time before an interpreter start a newinterpretation job he/she shall have basic understanding about the subject by collecting andsorting related information, and making preliminary communication with the conference’sorganizer, which would contribute to the assurance of interpretation quality. From theperspective of the activity organizer, it could plan the arrangement of subject content in abetter way to ensure the consistency of interpretation quality.
