Cui Zhi Yuan was one of the representative men of letters of Shila dynasty and thefounder of Chinese literature in Korea. He went to Tang to study at the age of12and wonthe first place at Bin Gong Ke. He got the position of Li Shui Xian Wei at20, became aideof Gao Pian the Zhu Dao Bing Ma Dou Tong. Afterward, he held various posts insuccession from Cheng Wu Lang Dian Zhong Shi Yu Shi Nei Gong Feng to Zi Jin Yu Daifrom Tang Xi Zong. While serving as a staff officer under Gao Pian in Yang Zhou, Cui ZhiYuan compiled a book, Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji, with poems and writings that he wroteduring that period. Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji is the only remaining book of Cui Zhi Yuan andthe first private Korean collection of literary works. All the sentences are Pian Wen andcontents reflect situations of Tang dynasty so it has great historic value.Although Cui Zhi Yuan tried to save and reform Shilla dynasty in confusion, heretired to hermitage in the mountain until he died. People of later ages thought he failed toachieve his ambition but this kind of conception could not only spoil his fame but alsodistort his achievements without objective facts. Therefore, this study tries to look at himwith a new viewpoint by thoroughly checking his writings and historical records abouthim. Even though there are a few studies which have shown pretty great analyses abouthis writings, there are very few studies which have looked over Gui Yuan Bi Geng Jideeply. So, this study tries to analyze Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji thoroughly and deeply.This study consists of4chapters. Chapter1is introduction and shows currentsituation of studies of Cui Zhi Yuan and Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji. And it also introduces themeaning of this study, points of this study and means of this study. Chapter2shows thelife of Cui Zhi Yuan and his cultural exchange achievements. Chapter3analyzes thewriting activities of Cui Zhi Yuan and Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji. Chapter4gives carefulconsideration to the position of Cui Zhi Yuan in the meaning of Sino-Korean literature history.Cui Zhi Yuan contributed a lot to Sino-Korean cultural exchange and he takes noblepost in Sino-Korean literature history. I really hope that this study could supplement alittle to the studies of Cui Zhi Yuan and Gui Yuan Bi Geng Ji. And I hope this study couldhelp Sino-Korean relations. |
