The Contrast Of Chinese And English Existential Sentences And Their Translation

Both the Chinese existential sentences and the English existential sentences arecharacteristic sentence patterns in their own language. They both have their own specialstructural and semantic features. By comparing them, we will find, There are similaritiesas well as differences in syntax, semantics, pragmatic. The English translation of Chineseexistential sentences is not simply changing into the corresponding English form. Weshould handle the translation methods flexibly according to the different contexts. Thispaper will discuss the contrast of Chinese existential sentences and English existentialsentences, the English translation of Chinese existential sentences, and the Chinesetranslation of English existential sentences.This article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter, it will give a short introduction of the present research on theChinese and English existential sentences, their comparisons, the English translation ofChinese existential sentences, and Chinese translation of the English existential sentences.At last, it will put forward the research methods and significance of this paper.The second chapter first introduces a common understanding of the Chineseacademic circles, which includes the definition, the structure and classification ofexistential sentences. It will systematically analyze the features of the existing Chinesesentence s location words, verb words, the existing subjects. Lastly it will conclude theoverall features of the Chinese existential sentences.The third chapter presents the definition, structure of the English existential sentences.It will discuss the features of “there”, the verb words, existing subjects, and summarize thegeneral features of the English existential sentences.The fourth chapter will compare the Chinese and English existential sentences, sumsup the similarities and differences between them.The fifth chapter will focus on the English translation methods of Chinese existential sentences, as well as the Chinese translation methods of English existential sentences.Hope to provide certain reference for the translation of existential sentences.Chapter6is a conclusion of this thesis. And it will propose research insufficiencies.
