Little Poems Mill, a literary association comprised of overseas Chinese(mainly inThailand) was founded on the base of real life in Thailand and was supposed toexpress emotional feelings and recognitions of the second and the third generation ofoverseas Chinese settled in Thailand. Their awareness of homeland and taking root inThailand has been developed into their daily life, thus making the theme oflocalization within culture sphere one of their writing and expressing focus.These people are overseas poets with sense of justice and social conscience. Oneof the main themes of their poems is concern about society and life, especially aboutthe fate of lower class in Thailand society. The poems they write showcase theirculture mentality, localization complex, realistic writing attitude (both calmly andpassionately), concern about humans and strong social responsibility as well. Theyemphasize that poems wrote shall concern about society, reality and humans. Whatthey pursue is the combination of local characteristics of poems and aestheticsrecognition held by overseas Chinese and open-minded spirit of aesthetics of poetry.The creation of six lines poems by overseas Chinese (mainly in Thailand) ismainly due to the perseverance of and tacit understanding among the poetsthemselves. The theme of the poems is all-inclusive which can be as big as theuniverse and as small as sand. The poems are short, delicate and in-depth. The poemsstand out due to their shortness and delicacy. The words being concise, layout of thelines being exquisite, images within the poem elaborately created, all these are theirfeatures. Besides, most of the poems are free verse and changeful. The essence of thepoems is to express instant feelings and inspiration of the poet himself and elaboratephilosophy of life or esthetic feelings by lyric style. This paper is to systematicallydiscuss the creation of poems by these poets from the viewpoint of religion, emotion,philosophy, esthetics and the like and meanwhile, analyze the thought and meaning ofthe poems from the viewpoint of Sino-Thai literary thought and culture. To put itsimply, the poems can be called the essence of cultural exchange between China andThailand and new display of Sino-Thai literature. Based on the analysis of the above-mentioned poems, this essay is aimed tofurther discuss the feelings of these poets, analyze the creation background of thepoems and research the acute connotation and exquisite language art of the poems soas to understand the achievement and influence of these poems and meanwhile.
