Since computers and internet becoming an significant part of Chinesehouseholds’ daily lives, the network literature started to develop at a rapid speed.Combined with the publication of <First intimate contact>, one of Pizi Cai’s mostfamous network novels, and its impressive results, the network literature brought atrend among people. The following popular network novel writers, such as Anne Baby,Jin Hezai, brought ferocious impact on Chinese contemporary literary, and theyaroused the concern of traditional writers and academics. What’s more, people alsosaw great business potential that hiding in these network literatures, business interesthad side effects on these novels and changed their original appearance.On one hand, for the internet writers, they often develop the commercial aspectsof their novel in order to get the attraction of people by excavating more and moreliteral themes and angles. As90%of the literary websites are acquired by ShandaLiterature Co. Ltd, commercialization has become the mainstream of networkliterature. These literary websites operate like companies, they granted VIP status toits readers, charge reading fees of those popular novels with high click amount on thewebsite. The bonus writers get are related to the popularity of their novels, and so asto earn money,writers began to create various types of fictions.On the other hand, as the consumer base of network literature is very large, thedivision of network literature became more specific. As to satisfy and attract differentkinds of readers, network literature changed its simple and initial essence, a way forwriters to extracting themselves, to various and creative styles. These styles includethriller, suspense, fantasy, etc. From the works published on the website namedRongshuxia, to the establishment of Zhongwenwang, the starting point of fantasyliterature, to the publication of Jin Hezai’s novel <Ruo Xing Han Tian Kong> and itspopularity, and then to the publication of <Gui Chui Deng> in2006, Tomb literaturebecame a branch of fantastic literature and started to be famous among readers.According to network literature, the change of creation motives brought thenetwork novels new writing styles, but the commercial requirements still paste similarlabel to these internet novels. For example, image instead of the readers, meet thepotential desires of readers. Tomb literature, a branch of network literature, also has same characters as other kinds of network literature. This paper aims to discuss thefeatures of Tombnovels from these aspects detailed.Meanwhile, chose tomb novel as a unique research pattern has its rationalreasons. The tomb novels were began from a simple serial works, and it was punishedas a follow suit of fantastic literature. It was said that the tomb novels only had theshape of fantastic literatures but lack of context and meaning. But nowadays, itsstrong development proved that the tomb novels are not only the follow suit offantastic novels, it expand its theme and context to various fields and embodiesoutstanding and unique qualities than before.Although tomb literature was criticized strongly by academics and some scholarsfrom the very beginning, it is booming and gets large attention from readers.Therefore, we could not simply deny the existence of this creation or ignore itsmeaning of existing. These paper sticks to this purpose, investigates the popularity oftomb literature, summarizes the main features of tomb literature, forecasts itsdevelopment prospects and tend in the future, and help contemporary academic tolearn more about this emerging literature type.
