Officials in Ming dynasty is considered the mature sign of officials assessmentsystem in the history. The early Ming emperor Zhu Yuanzhang developed a set of theselection and evaluation system not only in order not to repeat the mistakes of theYuan dynasty in Ming dynasty and achieve stability, but also in order to clarify thebureaucracy and strengthen the management of the officials. Since then the monarchalso have all sorts of measures of official in test class several times to clarify forbureaucracy.The Ming dynasty civil assessment system in the Hongwu period basicly finalizethe design. Evaluation system compared the former dynasties, there have been somechanges in the name of the assessment, standard, take an examination, number, leveldivision, rewards and punishments way. Because of the corrupt bureaucracy of WanLi dynasty, exactly zhang Juzheng’s reform failed and then decrepit, it graduallybecame partisan struggle down dissident tools and to decay. Officials in theassessment of departments and supervision department all losed effect. Officialdepartment is one of the highest agency officials of officials’s assessment. Duchayuanwas both test class institutions and the charge of the supervision. The collectors, thehousehold, the ritual, the soldier, punishment and work was also the supervisorsof officials’s assessment. Bacause the department of the officers was lack but was’t berepaired, the exam course system failed to reach their normal function. Thus it becamea pair of mere skeleton, and the tool of corruption and Dangtongfayi growing, and atlast tended to collapse. But some content of official investigation system in Mingdynasty still can be used for reference in today.
