From the perspective of Pragmatics Memetics, the author in this thesis explored the development and features of the popular network language as well as its influence upon the culture. The copy propagation of Meme has provided a short cut for the emergence and development of the popular words on-line. In addition to introducing some concepts about Memetics, the author did a deep investigation on the memetic phenomenon that has appeared in the popular network language. Based on a series of analysis and research, the author drew a conclusion that the popular words on-line per se is a language meme whose spread and influence have revealed the development and propagation laws of language and culture. |
