Talking About Cheng Du In Li Jieren’s Writings

Cheng Du, in Li Jieren’s writings, is the memory and imagination of Cheng Du. I write this thesis to try to inspect the Chinese civilization’s variation and reveal the pains of Chinese civilization and the unchangeable development during the late Qin dynasty, on the basis of Li Jieren’s writings about Cheng Du, thus deriving the historical and civilization concept of Li Jieren.This thesis has four parts. At first, I will introduce the significance for my electing topic and the present condition of the study. The first part foreshadows the exposition of my whole article. The chapter Ⅰ of my thesis will tell you the unique style and features of Cheng Du. We can see that Cheng Du is a classical city which is full of the smells in the country. In the chapter Ⅱ,I will expound the Cheng Du in the modern civilization, spreading out the slow development and disturbance in the modern times. ChapterⅢ will talk about the people of Cheng Du in the changeable times. We can see the city’s civilization and the change of the times in Cheng Du, according to the disposition and destiny of the people living in Cheng Du. We can also get the psychology of Li Jieren. Finally, I will talk about the significance of Li Jieren’s writings about Cheng Du. We can grasp the historical and civilization concept of Li Jieren by his writings. And we can also know the Li Jieren’s critical philosophy about the wholesale westernization n the doctrine of back to the ancients" and so on.
