Study On The Changes Of The Administrative Division Of Hubei In Ming And Qing Dynasties

The Ming and Qing are period of creation and establishment of HuBei province.At that time, the county level administrative region in HuBei experienced a series ofchanges as well. This paper base on the period during the Ming and Qing, describe thechange of Hubei county administrative region in each of the two dynasties inaccordance with the type of changes, and analysis the political, economic, military orsocial reasons which cause them changed, and then summarizes characteristics of thechanges of them. Making a comparative research on the changes of HuBei countylevel administrative region, so that we can draw the different places of their changes,and then to analyze the reasons. Finally, through the study and comparison above, soget conclusions of some relative laws of changes about HuBei county leveladministrative region in the Ming and Qing, as well as the impact it brings to HuBeisociety during the two dynasties.The basic framework of this paper is in accordance with the above consideration.Except the introduction and the conclusion, the full text is divided into four chapters:In the first chapter, it discusses the evolution of HuBei county leveladministrative region in the Ming. Firstly, as the Ming followed the system of theYuan, it intruduces the system-follow of HuBei county level administrative region inthe Ming. Secondly, according to the types of change, such as the assembling ofcounties, the assembling and reset of counties, adding new counties, the changes inrelationship of administrative subordination, the up and down of hierarghy, thealterable of countiy residents and so on, it tells the general situation of the change ofHuBei county level administrative region during the time. At last, it analyze andsummarize the reasons and characteristics of the change of HuBei county leveladministrative region in the Ming.In the second chapter, it discusses the situation of the change of HuBei countylevel administrative region in the Qing. At first, it also base on the types of change,such as the assembling of counties, the assembling and reset of counties, adding newcounties, the changes in relationship of administrative subordination, the up and downof hierarghy, the alterable of countiy residentsand so on. And it sketches an overview of the change of HuBei county level administrative region in this time. Then itanalyze and summarize the reasons and characteristics of the change of HuBei countylevel administrative region during the time.In the third chapter, it compares the changes of HuBei county leveladministrative region between the Ming and Qing and analyzes their different reasonsfrom four aspects: the number, the spatiotemporal characters, the types of change, andthe main reason of change of the county level administrative region.In the forth chapter, by studying and analyzing HuBei county leveladministrative region during the period of the Ming and Qing, it gets the law of thechange of HuBei county level administrative region in the Ming and Qing, and thenanalyzes the influence to the HuBei society in that time from the change of HuBeicounty level administrative region.
