Abstract/Summary:
Since the1840,George Sand had been growing into a Utopian socialist graduallywith the influence of the Utopian socialism. She wrote three Utopian socialismnovel,which is Le Compagnon du Tour de France,Consuelo,La Meunierd’Angibault.They were the product in a special time, in which the Romanticism hadtransitted into the Realism, in which the writer wrote works at the background ofsocial reality.In the three novels,the main idea is love and have the profound realisticmeaning.In her novels, George Sand tried her best to describe the ideal personage inher thinking. At the same time, she came up with the way of establishing thepantisocracy on the base of focusing on the social reality. One the base ofthe previous studies, the author of this thesis took a systematic study in order to reacha full understanding to the three novels.The thesis has four parts. The firsr part is introduction, in which is to introducethe fruit,which is on the base of George Sand’s lifetime and literature.The second part is the main part of thesis,which is including three sections.Firstly, the first section has introduced the basis of George Sand writting theUtopian socialism novel.That basis is Utopian socialism of the nineteenth century.Besides,the author is also reviewing George Sand’s development of Utopiansocialism.During her Teenage Years,her grandmother had played the important role toher in her writing career,and the complex family relations is thought the crucialfactor.In her middle age, George Sand got sincere help and support of two men, whoare Michelle and Leroux,who are despots and mentors of George Sand’s spirit. At last,the author is also analying the reflection of George Sand’s Utopian socialism in theother novels.The second section are mainly used to analye George Sand’s Utopian socialismnovel, combining with the Utopian socialism. Le Compagnon du Tour de France is thechief object of study in the first chapter, which is to reflect the inequality of the realityin France. Byei is shaped the first image of worker with profound Utopian socialism.Consuelo is the chief object of study in the second chapter, which is to explore thisrealistic significance of this Consuelo. And in the novel, Consuelo is the ideal image of civilian. Albert is shaped the lunatic images on the surface,we can find Albert is theincarnation of Christ in reality. The miller of is the chief object of study in the thirdchapter, which is used to analyse the epochal characteristics in the1840s and theprofound meaning of the ideal group.The third section are mainly used to research the value of Utopian socialismnovel.Not only do three novels have the same topic that is the love,but also constructthe same patterm which is the likeminded love between the populace and thenoble.What’s more, the love is set on the basis of the society.The hero compose a newsong of equality and love.In George Sand’s novel,worker and peasant are shaped asthe heroine, including the other lifelike images of worker and peasant.In the novel,George Sand eulogized the labor, and belauded the working people who makecontributions to the history.The last part is ending.firstly, the writer of thesis have sorted out the history ofdevelopment of Utopian socialism novel. Then the writer have evaluated the Utopiansocialism novel of George sand dialectically so that inquired the value andshortcoming of her Utopian socialism novel.
