| Code-mixing is common phenomenon in the current Chinese newspapers,especially the metropolitan newspapers. It is mainly reflected in the following threeaspects: the mixed use of Chinese and English, the mixed use of Mandarin anddialect, the mixed use of network language and non-network language.The currentresearch is mainly focused on the mixed use of Chinese and English.This article takes Guangzhou newspapers as a case to analyze code-mixingphenomenon in Chinese newspapers.The main body of the article includes three parts:Study on the mixed use of Chinese and English,Study on the mixed use of Mandarinand Cantonese, Study of the mixed use of network language and non-networklanguage.Analysis of research mainly includes the distribution, mixed type,(embedded components) linguistic features, reason (or meaning) etc.. Throughanalysis we found that, in the distribution, whether it is the mixed use of Chinese andEnglish, the mixed use of Mandarin and Cantonese, the mixed use of networklanguage and non-network language are influenced by page content; in mixed mode(type), a word or phrase insertion as the main form; in the language features, the useof English mainly Concentrated in the proper name;The use of Cantonese mainlyfocused on common words or idioms;and the use of network language focused on thepopular network language.The use of English,Cantonese, network language willenrich and develop newspapers language, enhance the expressive effect of newspaperslanguage,closer the distance between the readers and newspapers, which reflects theopenness and the times of the newspapers language. |
