The thesis intends to promote an effective way of training professional translators.Graduate Institution of Interpretation and Translation (GIIT) of SISU has built a uniqueafter-class teaching model, which trains students through real translation projects in orderto quickly improve students’ professional capability and quality. Based on a filmtranslation project undertaken by GIIT Students Internship Center, the thesis probes intothe training value of proofreading—an important part of the project. It introduces theproofreading process and analyzes training functions of proofreading through survey andcase studies. It is concluded that the participants in proofreading have understood theconcepts of professional translation better and improved their translation competences.Thus, proofreading is an effective way in terms of translator training which deservesgeneralization. |
