Gu Ruopu is a very famous female poet in Jiangnan region in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. She not only has extraordinary literary talent, but also has moral integrity which is quite worthy of praise.She was the female representative of having both ability and political integrity. She had been a widow for more than sixty years. She was the parent of her husband’s family.After dealling with the housework,Gu still kept learning and wrote the book "Wo Yue Xuan Gao". Gu Ruopu’s style of writing poetry inherited from family education.She also influenced many younger women poets.Gu Ruopu is studied from many aspects in this article. The content is divided into four parts. The first part, studying on Gu Ruopu’s family background and her life; The second part,discussing Gu Ruopu’s literary creation from three aspects—the double feature of her creation of poetry, the contacts between she and her friends and relatives, and the comparison about she and the other female poets in the same period;The third part, researching into the subjective and object conditions of her literary activities, from Gu Ruopu ’s perspective, and combined with her family background and the environment;The fourth part, analysing Gu Ruopu’s influence and status, and viewing the prosperity of feminine literature in the Jiangnan area.
