Shi Tiesheng was a thoughtful author among the authors in the contemporary era. He started writing after he was disabled. After that, He worked in the community and started to try writing. After he started to write in1978, Shi Tiesheng had got lots of achievements.Shi Tiesheng’s writing was based on his own disability and wrote about his experience as a disable person, wrote about the struggling and how to get over the misery. During this process, Shi Tiesheng formed his subject consciousness. Through understanding She Tiesheng’s works, we realized clearly:His works were mostly about the disabled and the spirit of them. But during this period the focuses are different, the early works were about the disabled needed to be understood. That is just like a sentence in his book:People may give up everything, but was unable to give up the desire to be understood. This period mainly showed his self-consciousness. However he wrote about the rational thinking on the disabled in his later works. Disability is the existence of a state, disability is meaningful. Whether a person is disabled or not is not the most important. The most important thing is to make one’s life colorful and meaningful. Just in this process, Shi Tiesheng completed his maturity of his thought. This period is the period which his subject consciousness had formed. The powerful spirit of subject consciouness led him to get over and face the misery, so that he enrich his heart. During this change, we knew the gradual maturity of his thought and the power of spirit——the effect of subject consciousness, this power of intrinsic spirit can overcome the obstacles of the external physical disability.
