| A business contract is an agreement enforced by law and plays an important rolein economic activities among various countries. With the development of internationaleconomy, business contracts play an increasingly essential role. However, thedevelopment of contract translation is still slow in some degree. Functionalisttranslation theory provides a whole new perspective for study.This thesis aims to study business contract, translation principles and methods, soas to instruct the translation practice and improve translation skill. First, the thesisintroduces the features and functions of English business contract. Then it makes ananalysis of the rationality and applicability of the functionalist translation theory as theguideline for contract translation and explores the translation techniques or E-Ctranslation of business contracts under this guideline. Finally, it is concluded thatfunctionalist translation theory offers translator and reader a whole new perspectiveinto business contract translation. |
