| Interlanguage is a unique language system in the process of second language learners learning target language, which is in the middle state of the structure between native language and target language. Interlanguage is a constantly changing language system. Learners are all on the developing point of the system. With the improvement of learning, interlanguage gradually approaches the correct form of target language. However, due to the differences between target language and native language, errors will inevitably occur in the course of study. Therefore, the process of second language learning is actually the process of creating interlanguage, developing interlanguage and correcting errors. Error analysis requires language teachers to analyze the learners’errors and guide language teaching.Based on the theory of error analysis and interlanguage, the author adopted qualitative and quantitative research methods in the thesis. The first part introduces the research background, significance and purpose of the study. Chapter two reviews the previous study on interlanguage, error analysis and the relevant theories in this field. And then, the author introduced the method of collecting the data, the subjects and research methods of the study. All the data were based on the selections of oral communication in English classes for English major freshmen in Development College of Jilin Agricultural University (DCJAU). The focus of the study is the distribution and analysis of the errors by using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Interlanguage errors from the perspective of language knowledge, linguistic categories, and error sources have been studied in the thesis. The analysis is going to find the distribution and frequency of interlanguage errors in order to help language teachers adopt appropriate teaching strategies and methods to promote their teaching profession. From the analysis of students’oral communication selection in English classes in this thesis, the findings can be summarized as follows: a. Phonetic teaching is critically important for the second language learners, which is the essence of language learning. b.
