Among the contemporary female writers, Ru Zhijuan is not the most glamorous one, but a very typical one. Her writing career advanced with the development of the new China, during which time all the appraisements were heavily marked with synchronical characteristics. However, Ru Zhijuan is not the kind of person who are willing to be overwhelmed by the time. She didn’t become the mouthpiece of the politics, but insisted on her own individual character under that social condition where all people held the same opinion. Because of this, RuZhijuan’s literature value should not be forgotten by critics. In Ru Zhijuan’s works,"revolution" is one of the most important words. Her early life had stuck in poverty and uncertainty before she joined the New Fourth Army, where she felt like at home. Ru’s revolution experience during1943-1949not only forged her working style, but also formed the emotional tone in her later work. Whether in the sincere praise in the "17years", or in the enthusiastic criticize after "cultural revolution", Ru Zhijuan never strayed away from her shining memory of revolution. And "emotion" is another special label of Ru ZhiJuan’s works. During the period of "17years", she opened the window for daily life, attached her attention to the details of ordinary people, and drew out the innermost of their soul. After the "cultural revolution", her "emotion" is much more restrained. As creative mentality matured, we can sense a brave reflection in her works. It can be said that, Ru’s "emotion" never rush with the crowd, her perseverance and creative spirit imparted her works with a constant charm.Of course, the "revolution" and "emotional" are not contradict. Moreover, in Ru’s works, two factors form a harmonious unity. Adopting the methodology of text analysis and historical data analysis, this paper will start from my understanding of the Ru’s revolutionary life and the historical background, concentrate on the analysis of expression of emotion in her works in different periods, and show how she struggled in the harsh political and how she stuck in difficulties. On this way, this paper will present a real Ru Zhijuan.
