In recent years, more and moreoverseas education institutions, scholars and students have become interested in Chinese universities. Theywant to know about some messages about universities, such as education and teaching, disciplinarydevelopment and scientific research, international exchanges and cooperation and campus culture. As achannel for foreigners to know about Chinese universities, more attention should be paid to the translationsof webpage profiles of Chinese universities. Although the translation of webpage profiles of Chineseuniversities have already made great progress in recent years, there also exist many problems and errorswhich are worthy of being concerned in the translations of webpage profiles of Henan universities. Linguistic translationerrors are including misspellings and grammatical mistakes, mechanical expressions, redundancy, andcomplicated sentence structure.The conclusion can be reached at that the translation of webpage profiles of Henan universities shouldbe target reader-oriented.
