Every word includes three inseparable parts,such as the sound, formand meaning,meaning is the core of the word recognition, sound and form is the word’s coat. A largenumber of experimental studies have confirmed that three levels of the sound, form andmeaning exist cross-linguistic influence each other. And propound a series of bilingual theorymodels.Studies have demonstrated that psychological dictionary sound, form and meaning are allexist cross language influences each other. Dijkstra and Van Heuven (2002) summed up twoideas, one is the selective extraction of bilingual language hypothesis and the none-selectiveextraction hypothesis,the other is the vocabulary representation of the two languages isindependent store or common storage. And then forms two opposite conclusions: Languageselective extraction at the condition of the psychological dictionary independent storage andlanguage none-selective extraction at the condition of the psychological dictionary commonstorage. Based on this, In order to validate the relevant theoretical model,and to furtherexplore the unicom mechanism and representation way on the level of the speech syllables,this study selected unskilled bilingual persons as the participants, designed three experimentalstudies.First,the representation way on the level of the speech syllables and the unicommechanism at the condition of the Chinese and English words startup at the same time.Second,the representation way on the level of the speech syllables and the unicom mechanism at thecondition of the Chinese and English words hybrid startup.Third,the Erp of the representationway on the level of the speech syllables and the unicom mechanism at the condition of theChinese and English words hybrid startup.The first experimental studies found: The experimental participants’ response timeswhen the pronunciation of the alphabetic strings were same were significantly less than whenthe alphabetic strings were not same; The experimental participants’ response times when thesemantic of the alphabetic strings were same were significantly less than when the Semanticstrings were not same too; at the same time, when the pronunciation and semantic are all same,the reaction times of them are more short. The experiment not only obtained semantic effects,but also obtained pronunciation effect. Chinese and English words closely related onpronunciation and semantic, when the speech and semantic are same or similar, producedstrong accessibility advantage between speech and semantic.The second experimental studies found: The response times under the condition ofChinese startup are more quickly than under the condition of the English startup, The contactstrength from the first language to the second language are greater than from the secondlanguage to the first language. The more similar syllables, the contact strength from the firstlanguage to the second language are greater than the second language to the firstlanguage.The reaction time value between the response times of the same or similar syllablesat the beginning and at the ending under the conditions of Chinese startup and the responsetimes of the same or similar syllables at the beginning and at the ending under the conditionsof English startup is the largest(87.87ms),while, The reaction time value between the responsetimes of the no same or no similar syllables at the beginning and at the ending under the conditions of Chinese startup and the response times of the no same or no similar syllables atthe beginning and at the ending under the conditions of English startup is thesmallest(6.55ms), The higher the degree of similarity, the faster the response. Showing thattwo kinds of language in the speech levels is the common representation and none-selective,while the simple effect between any two of the same initial syllables, the same tailsyllables, and the same initial and tail syllables is significant, showing that at the level ofsyllables different syllables (including syllable combination) are independent store andselective.The third experimental studies found: At the conditions of Chinese start-up, in210ms-410ms time window, first syllables same, end syllables same, first and end syllablessame, no related syllable’s average amplitude differences were not significant,suggested thatin the syllables level was also common storage, none-selective, first and end syllables sameproduced the smallest average amplitude,Show that the higher the degree of syllablesimilarity produced more closely link between the Chinese and English words. At theconditions of English start-up, first syllables same, end syllables same, first and end syllablessame, no related syllable’s average amplitude differences were significant, implied syllablehigher the degree of similarity, the more tend to be independent storage, also shows that theclassification of stored possibility exists on the level of syllable. In different startup conditions,the activation strength of speech was different. The biggest difference on the first syllable andthe same head and tail syllable further revealed the independent storage of speech on thesyllable level. ERP Experimental studies have shown that the bilingual connectivitymechanism from Chinese to English was better than from English to Chinese, semantic andspeech between Chinese and English exist compound interaction.Conclusion: First, in lexical decision task, bilinguals not only obtained semantic effects,but also obtained speech effects. Chinese and English words between same or similar speechproduced stronger speech access advantage. The contact strength from first language tosecond language is greater than the contact strength from second language to first language,Syllables are more similar to the higher, more closely. Second, on the level of speech,Bilingual speech is common representation and non-selective. on the level of syllable isindependent representation. In the speech level was accorded with the BIA+model putforward by Dijkstra&vanHeuven (2002), In the syllable level was accorded with theexperimental hypothesis of independent representation and selective extraction.Third, TheERPS Data further showed that more similar degree to the syllables, more closely relationshipbetween Chinese and English words, shows that the classification of stored possibility existson the level of syllable. |
