| Yuan dynasty, which was established by Mongolian, was one of the few dynasties set upin Central China in Chinese history. After its whole unification, its vast land area was largerthan any other empires in Chinese history. The Mongolian, as the ruler and a minority group,governed Han nationality, whose population accounted for the majority of Central China, andother minority groups. Under this circumstance, although there were dynasties that set up andgoverned by other minority groups, they did not finish the whole unification. Therefore, therule of Yuan dynasty had some degree of uniqueness. At the same time, China’s ethnicrelationship also appeared distinctive characteristics in Yuan dynasty. First, this paper studiesthe local administrative system in Yuan dynasty. In local government, provincial system wasadopted in Yuan dynasty. Local administrative system exercised three-tie system, including lu,prefecture (state) and county. Local official system set up a position, Daluhuachi, which wasfilled by the Mongolian. They were exalted and had the power to monitor the local officials.And then this paper investigates Mongolian’s official performance in Shandong province inYuan dynasty. From this aspect, we try to find out the local official characteristics and theethnic relationship in Yuan dynasty. Represented by three Mongolia Villages, Beitou Villagein MouPing, Liu Jiaying in LinZi and Su Laojia in Juan city, the third chapter inspectsMongolian officials’ descendents in Shandong province in Yuan dynasty, that is, to discussethnic fusion from the side. The last chapter makes a conclusion about the ethnic relationshipin Yuan dynasty and the reason. |
