The form of "X shi X" is commonly used in modern Chinese, especially in oral Chinese. However, the research on it is relatively quite rare. This paper tries to analyze this structure from the following aspects.The introduction generalized the former study about quasi-fixed structure and the form "X shi X", so as to prove the form "X shi X" to be one of the many quasi-fixed structures. The theory, the approach, research materials are also included.Chapter1:this chapter inspected the inner components of "X shi X", the property of "shi", the characteristics of "X" and the restriction of "X".Chapter2:this chapter described the grammar functions of the form "X shi X" in sentences, generalized it as predicate, attribute and component. It can also be used as a whole sentence.Chapter3:this chapter discussed the semantic features of the form "X shi X" from its semantic category, semantic origin and semantic cognitive environment.Chapter4:this chapter analyzed the pragmatic functions. It mainly studied its type of writing and emotional values.Chapter5:this chapter provided some suggestions in foreign language teaching of this structure and some advice on the several aspects we need to pay attention to during the teaching process.Chapter6:this chapter summarized all the research of this paper and illustrated the weak points in this paper.
