Luju, formerly known as Daoqixi, develops on the basis of ballads in middle area of Anhui and Jianghuai region and folk songs in the Dabie mountian area. Because it is popular in old Luzhou region in Anhui province, the government of Anhui changed its name to Luju in July,1955. With the approval of the State Council, Luju was listed in the first national nonmaterial cultural heritage list in June,2006. As one of the local Opera in Anhui, Luju, along with Huiju, Hangmeixi and Sizhouxi, is considered as four major opera of Anhui. Luju has form its unique singing style and music feature in the last200years.In this thesis, I will do a research about Luju, discuss about the historical origin, music form, repertoire analysis and so forth. I have sorted out and analyze the relevant text information, image data and the firsthand music play material from the author. On the one hand, discuss the culture context and the cultural inheritance and change of the Luju macroscopically. On the other hand, by comparing the music of Luju itself and the popular folk music in the region, I try to summarize the features of Luju and provide the latest reference of the musical theory of Luju.
