Neo-Confucianism had made great progress and came to the climax during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi(1165—1189) in the Southern Song Dynasty. This is clearly shown in the diversification of the Neo-Confucianism thought and Neo-Confucianism schools. During the prosperous period of Neo-Confucianism, there is a relative climax period of the composition of Fu. Neo-Confucians are engaged in the composition of Fu to show their Neo-Confucian ideas or literary opinions in this period. Based on this phenomenon, this thesis makes an overall grasp and detailed analysis of different Neo-Confucians’composition of Fu to show the basic situation, tendency and characteristics of the composition of Fu in this period. With the analysis, the thesis will show the real situation of the literary works and history, and provide references for later research on Fu.The introduction part shows the background and meaning of this research, and makes a literature review of the situation of the composition of Fu during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi in the Southern Song Dynasty. In order to analyze the composition of Fu of Neo-Confucians in the following chapters, it also explains the reasons of Neo-Confucianism’s vigorous development and makes a general overview of Neo-Confucians’view of literature and their works.Chapter one mainly analyzes the basic situation of Zhu Xi’s and Lou Yao’s composition of Fu during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi. Research on Zhu Xi’s Fu is focused on its model meaning and spreads out around the word "model". Research on Lou Yao’s Fu is mainly about the characteristics of Lv Fu. Focused on this, the thesis makes an investigation of the composition of Lv Fu under the influence of Neo-Confucianism during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi.Chapter two mainly analyzes the basic situation of Zhang Shi’s and Wang Yan’s composition of Fu during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi. Research on Zhang Shi’s Fu is mainly about the "nature" of his Neo-Confucian thought and the embodiment of Huxiang School emphasizing statecraft in Fu. Research on Wang Yan’s Fu is mainly about the "Worship the king and fight against the barbarians" thought and the tendency of criticizing the reality shown in his Fu.Chapter three mainly analyzes the basic situation of Lu Jiuyuan’s, Yuan Xie’s and Yang Jian’s composition of Fu. Research on Lu Jiuyuan’s Fu is mainly about the Neo-Confucianist sense of mission and consciousness of moral perfection. Research on Yuan Xie’s Fu is mainly about the exploration of its reappearance of the real political life. Research on Yang Jian’s Fu is focused on the fact that its tendency towards"Zongjing" leads to the redundancy of his works.Chapter four mainly analyzes the basic situation of Lv Zuqian’s, Xue Jixuan’s, Chen Fuliang’s and Ye Shi’s composition of Fu. Research on Lv Zuqian’s Fu is mainly about the influence of amalgamation of his thought on Yongjia-Shigong School. Research on Xue Jixuan’s Fu is mainly about the "three successive doors" phenomenon shown by the composition of Fu under the instruction of the thought "emphasizing the statecraft". Researches on Chen Fuliang’s and Ye Shi’s composition of Fu are mainly about their inheritance and development of Shigong School reappeared in their Fu.Chapter five mainly analyzes the basic situation of Yang Wanli’s composition of Fu. It describes the literary realm, Neo-Confucianism realm and their blending contained in the "Cheng Zhai-style" Fu in the perspective of Neo-Confucianism and literature.The conclusion part mainly shows the relationship among different Schools during the period of Qiandao and Chunxi. Based on the analysis of different people’s composition of Fu, it makes a description of the overall tendency shown in the Neo-Confucians’composition of Fu in this period.
