The salon of Madame Roland was one of the famous salons in the French Revolution of18th century, although the existence time was very short, but had an important role in promoting the Revolution. It provides a theoretical value and practical significance for the later women to fight for political rights and social status. Because of a variety of reasons, it is currently lack of relevant research in China.Madame Roland formed her own set of ethical standards that combined with Rousseau’s ideas and her insights, which was the salon’s ideological premise. But compared to Madame Roland’s salon and the Enlightenment Salon, there were fundamental differences, it was no longer place that the upper elite chat and contact, but a place that the active politicians discussed current affairs and national policy. Madame Roland’s salon was a political salon prominently in two aspects, on the one hand salon’s purpose that Madame Roland founded was with political overtones, and on the other hand the characters who participated the salon were famous politicians, such as Brissot, Buzot, Robespierre and Danton.Although the salon of Madame Roland played an important role in promoting the French Revolution, its defects was obvious. Madame Roland’s salon was just a small portion of the meeting place, its sociability and critical was only suitable for the salon range. With the continuous development of the French Revolution, the ideology of freedom and equality was deeply rooted; the lower classes’desire to want to participate in public affairs was more intense, popular culture became the mainstream culture of the community. Led by the elite culture of Madame Roland’s salon and political environment can not be harmonious, only quit the stage of history, this was an inevitable historical development. Nevertheless, Madame Roland and the salon could not be indelible in the French Revolution.
