Symbols are the bridge and the spirit of the media of communication between human and the world. Symbol phenomena are the oldest social existence associated with human beings, who accompany the formation of all human history; as well, they are one of the focuses of humanities due to they’re full of contemporary significance as academic study object. The appearance of modern semiotics is because of three researches in the academic areas. To be specific, the first one is Structural Linguistics, second one is Logic, and third one is Culture and Philosophy. There are three factors that constitute symbol which was initially proposed by the inaugurator of the American pragmatic philosophy---C. S. Pierce:media, anaphora, and interpretation. Symbols are used to present and express other objects (which are related to), and they have certain significances to human beings because they can be understood and interpreted by people. The cognitive world of human is also the world of symbols. Logos in modern design consisted of special characters or graphics are the symbols of mass communication, which stand for the specific matters or organizations, possess particular implications and symbolic meanings, concentrate the images and connotations of the objects, and they are a kind of symbol of the spirit, expression of the value and show of the image. As a symbol image in the design of visual-spatial, logo design itself is a fairly straightforward and correct media during visual communication process. The application of Semiotics has direct impact on the communication of design thinking in the logo design. It is these significances of symbols that make the design more scientific and accurate.This thesis, using psychology, communication, aesthetics, plastic arts, chromatology etc., is focus on the researches and induction of the symbolic characteristics and potential meanings of the modern logos and the influences of the value as well as the communication of logos from all the aspects of the symbolic marks in order to make better use of the symbols’ symmetry to serve the logos better. Hence, this thesis has some certain values of design theory method, which exert a positive promotion on the design of logos and make this art, logo, have unique charming among the numerous information methods because of its highly simplified and symbolic mean, beautiful and distinct visual language and strong and explicit appeal. This thesis, which has stronger values of logo design method and practice, will play an encouraging role in logo design to serve business economy better, finally promote the spread of the corporate image and the economic development. Logo design plays a decisive role in terms of a successful corporate identity design. As a carrier to convey the information, logo which is itself a symbol contains specific semantics, the designer will be thinking of an object concrete or visualization to convey the goods information. During the design thinking, multi- dimensional cross-combination is designed to make the logo more logical, philosophy, regular, informative so that the design will be symbolic graphics sanctioned by its own and the public as well, which is because logo, as a carrier, can concentrate the corporate image at certain space, time and the requires of social reality on symbolic language, and ultimately fulfill the real emotional communication between product logo and the public.
