Neologisms include newly created words and new meanings for established words. The appearance of English neologisms is the result of social development. This thesis probes the factors of the emerging of English neologisms and studies their translation. After explaining the factors, the thesis introduces four practical methods of translating English neologisms—literal translation, free translation, transliteration and combined translation of sound and meaning. In the conclusion, it is pointed out that the translation of English neologisms should be flexible. |
